Ohio State, Kansas, Pitt, Duke Take Top Seeds In 2011 Tourney

Ohio State is the No. 1 overall seed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament and will be placed in the East Region.

Joining the Buckeyes No. 1 seeds is Kansas in the Midwest, Pittsburgh in the Southeast and Duke in the West.

Pitt is the only No. 1 seed to not win their conference tournament, losing to eventual champion Connecticut in the quarterfinals.

San Diego State, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Florida are the No. 2 seeds, while Syracuse, Purdue, Connecticut and BYU are the No. 3 seeds. Kentucky, Louisville, Texas and Wisconsin are the No. 4 seeds.

Kansas and Duke were also No. 1 seeds in the 2010 NCAA Tournament, while Ohio State was a No. 2 and Pitt was a No. 3.

The Final Four will be held in Houston on April 2nd and 4th.

Northern Colorado Wins Big Sky, Advances To First Big Dance

Northern Colorado defeated Montana by a 65-60 final in the championship game to win the 2011 Big Sky Conference.

Devon Beitzel was named Tournament MVP.

Beitzel was joined on the All-Tournament Team by teammates Chris Kaba and Mike Proctor, Brian Qvale and Will Cherry (Montana), and Cameron Jones (Northern Arizona).

Northern Colorado will play in their first NCAA Tournament and first became a Division I school in 2007.

Big Sky Honors Best Players Of 10-11

Devon Beitzel of Northern Colorado won the Big Sky MVP for the 10-11 season.

Beitzel was joined on the All-Big Sky First Team by Will Cherry and Brian Qvale (Montana), Kyle Bullinger and Scott Bamforth (Weber State), Will Cherry (Montana) and Cameron Jones (Northern Arizona).

Glean Dean (Eastern Washington), Bobby Howard (Montana State), Neal Kingman (Northern Colorado), Charles Odum (Portland State) and Gave Rogers (Northern Arizona) were named to the All-Big Sky Second Team.

Qvale was the Big Sky Defensive POY, Bryan Fulton (Webster State) won Freshman of the Year and Bamforth was Newcomer of the Year.
